Chewelah’s Dawson Youngblood and Gavin Parrott converted six straight free throws in the final 26 seconds to help the Cougars squeeze past the Deer Park Stags 49-44 last night.
The win improved Chewelah’s Northeast A League record to 2-2 and 5-3 overall. The Stags fell to 2-2, 4-5.

DP's Palmer earns all-state football recognition

Deer Park tight end Mikal Palmer was the only Stag to receive recognition to the Associated Press’ All-State football team.
Palmer, a senior, earned honorable mention recognition to the state’s Class 1A team by members of the media from across the state.
