Deer Park clinches NE-A League soccer title

The Deer Park girls soccer team clinched undisputed Northeast A League soccer championship with a 3-1 win over Freeman yesterday.
The win improved to Lady Stags’ league record to 11-0 and a two-game lead over second place Lakeside with only one game to play.
Senior Jessie Thomas gave Deer Park a quick 1-0 lead with a goal at the 16-minute mark. Thomas would add an insurance goal in the second half after the Scotties had trimmed the Lady Stag lead to 2-1 on a Mindee Phipps marker.
Deer Park will close out the regular season on Thursday with a 4 p.m. game at Medical Lake.
