The Deer Park schools’ choral department continues to pursue great art through music
Last week Donovan Douglas and Hannah Rison attended the state Solo and Ensemble where they performed before in for a panel of three judges.
As the school year winds down, the choral program is winding up for its last performance and clinics.
On May 18, the concert choir will host Julia Keefe, an award winning jazz musician who will give Deer Park Choral Department students a free demonstration and clinic.
Keefe will then return to the Ken Fisher Auditorium on May 20 with her jazz group to give a benefit concert. Visit Facebook/thefishertheater for more details.
On May 19, Eastern Washington University will bring its choral department for a shared concert. The performance will be hosted in the Ken Fisher Performing Arts Theater at 7:30 p.m.
To finish the school year, the choral department will bring an evening of music from Broadway to pop at its year-end Awards Concert on May 24 at 7 p.m.
All donations taken from this concert will go directly to benefit the Eddy and Jacob Mahonov Medical Expense Fund. For more information on this family, visit https://www.gofundme.com/q7xwsmbw.
