Deer Park School District officials have begun the search to find a replacement for Michele Miller, longtime school administrator, who will retire at the end of the school year.
Miller came to the Deer Park School District 20 years ago as the Deer Park Elementary School principal. Six years ago she transferred to the same position at Arcadia Elementary School.
Among the qualifications needed to fill the vacancy, the candidate must hold a master’s degree and administrative credentials,
a minimum of five years teaching experience and a minimum of at least three years administrative and/or building leadership experience.
The candidate must also have knowledge of state educational guidelines, work cooperatively with other school district administrators and program specialists to meet student needs and maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents and community members.
School district officials will accept applications (including three letters of recommendations) until April 6. The new principal will assume his or her new duties on July 1.
