Miss Deer Park 2020 program

Ainsley Carpenter was crowned the 66th Miss Deer Park on March 14. Carpenter, who will represent the community at numerous events in the next year, won a $2,550 scholarship along with the title.

The junior said she was feeling “Plain shock and excitement,” after the program at Deer Park High School, which was capped at 250 people due to a state-wide mandate by Gov. Jay Inslee in response to COVID-19.

Princesses Isabella Sedano and Janessa Sexton each won $2,000 scholarships for being named princesses. Sedano and Sexton will join Carpenter in representing the Deer Park community at events in the coming year. A record $8,650 in scholarships were awarded in this year’s program. In addition to Miss Deer Park and the two princesses, there were seven $300 scholarships handed out.
