U.S. 395 accident sends five to the hospital

A motorist faces vehicle assault charges following an accident on U.S. Highway 395 and Monroe Road/Crawford Avenue on Monday night that sent five people to the hospital Monday night
According to the Washington State Police 23-year-old Kelly Walsh was driving southbound on U.S. 395 when he attempted to turn left onto Crawford Avenue.
WSP said Walsh was driving under the influence and pulled in front of a northbound car driven by Julie Gibbons, 37, hitting it head on.
Gibbons taken to Holy Family Hospital. Two passengers in her car, a 7-year-old and a 5-year-old, were also taken to the hospital. Her other passenger, a 3-year-old, was taken from the scene by family.
Kelly, who was charged with vehicle assault, along with a passenger in his car who was not wearing a seatbelt, were taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
