The Stevens County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a home invasion robbery on McKenzie-Woolard Road in Deer Park on Feb. 12.
Jordan M. Bastasin was taken into custody today during the service of a search warrant at an apartment on East Riverton in Spokane. A felony arrest warrant had been issued for the robbery and Bastasin was the target of the search warrant obtained by Stevens County detectives.
According to police reports, two males and one female allegedly forced their way into the victim’s home at gunpoint, tied the victim up, and stole numerous items including firearms and the victim’s debit card. The suspects forced the victim to give them the PIN for the debit card.
Members of the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force, Spokane Police Department, and the Chewelah Police Department K9 team were present for the warrant service.
Bastasin was resistive during the arrest. He was treated at a local hospital for dog bites before being booked into the Stevens County jail.
Tips generated by the public played an integral part of the investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
It is still seeking the public’s help in identifying the still unknown male and female suspects who also participated in the robbery. The suspects are likely close associates of Bastasin’s.
