The area had a hard time staying dry in 2017.
According to U.S. Climate statistics, Deer Park received 37.03 inches of precipitation last year, which is substantially more than the 22.28 inches the area receives on average for a year.
The large snowfall early in the year, especially in February and March and a wetter-than-normal November were the biggest reason for the added precipitation last year.
U.S. Climate statistics showed Deer Park received 9.32 inches of precipitation in February and March compared to the average total of 3.70 inches for those two months.
