Deer Park HIgh School threat appears to be unfounded

Staff Writer

Deer Park High School administrators, working with the school district resource deputy and law enforcement personnel, investigated rumors of a potential violent threat on May 30.
After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the rumors circulating amongst students were completely unsubstantiated and without credibility. In fact, there is no evidence that any threat was ever made. Normal operations were maintained throughout the school district.
School district officials reiterated that the safety of students continues to be our top priority.
They added that a number of conscientious students reported these rumors to adults at the school. Students are encouraged to share suspicious activity or concerning information with a person of authority in the school or directly with school district’s resource deputy.
