DPHS moves up in Scholastic Cup competition

The Deer Park High School athletic program, coming off a state wrestling championship, jumped to 21st place in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s Scholastic Cup competition for Class 1A schools.
Lynden Christian, which won the boys basketball title, holds the top spot with 1,045 points, followed by King’s (665) and Freeman (595). Deer Park has accumulated 190 points.
Other Northeast A League schools rankings are Newport (ninth, 375), Newport (10th, 310), Lakeside (19th, 205), Medical Lake (22nd, 185), Riverside (36th, 115).
