You know those classic Christmas movies where the town comes together and has a festive, heartwarming, holiday celebration? That is exactly what the planners of this year’s Hometown Christmas on December 4th want the Deer Park community to experience!

The festivities will begin at City Hall at 2 PM with caroling. Concessions will be available to enjoy as you listen to the carols. The Grinch will be crashing the party at 2:30 PM and will be available until 3:30 PM for FREE pictures with the kids.

The 3rd Annual Festival of Lights Parade will begin at 4 PM. Cars, trucks, tractors, bikes, and vehicles of any size are welcome to decorate those wheels and join. The parade line up begins at 3:30 PM. Participants should meet up along the street by the old bowling alley where there will be a greeter to check everyone in and accept their $10 entry fee. Winner for best decorated takes ALL! The parade ends at City Hall where kids can enjoy some fun activities and hot chocolate.

The annual tree lighting ceremony starts at 5 PM. Mayor Tim Verzal will light the tree and shortly after an outdoor showing of It’s a Wonderful Life will begin. (Weather permitting)
