The Deer Park girls soccer team picked up where it left off last season.
The Lady Stags, the defending District VII champion, unleashed a dominant performance in their 4-0 win over Riverside yesterday in the season opener for both schools.
Jessie Thomas, a four-year varsity starter for the Lady Stags, opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 6-minute mark. Thomas added another tally 19 minutes later and completed the hat trick with a goal at the 50-minute mark.
Goalkeeper Maddie Sellars stopped five Lady Ram shots in securing the shutout.
