Stag soccer squad edges Riverside in OT

The Deer Park boys soccer team erased a two-goal second half deficit and squeezed past Riverside 4-3 in overtime yesterday.
Trailing 3-1, the Stags cut the margin in half on a goal by Chase Sanchez at the 48-minute mark. Deer Park tied the game in the game’s final minute on a Antonio Vasquez on a feed from Sanchez narrowly slipped past Ram goalkeeper Lucas Burns.
Deer Park won the game on a goal by Ian Eickmeyer in the first overtime session.
The win improved Deer Park’s Northeast A League record to 1-1, while Riverside fell to 0-2.
